Meridional General Assembly concludes in Munich: partners discuss progress and upcoming results
BRIEF NEWS
The project just held its General Assembly in Munich, hosted by the Technical University of Munich.
Partners from University of Stuttgart, Technical University of Denmark, Politecnico di Milano, Airborne Wind Europe, and the whole Meridional Consortium gathered for two days of focused discussions. The meeting wrapped up work completed over the past months and laid the groundwork for the activities to come, preparing Meridional to showcase its results in the project’s final year.
During the Assembly, partners reviewed key project aims, including the development of a comprehensive inflow and wake flow repository, methods for controlling take-off and landing, and the generation of time series of key meteorological variables and 3D velocity fields.
The WindLab Knowledge and Data Hub was again presented as a central resource for project data, highlighting its renewed online availability for user registration. Discussions focused on wind farm design, including onshore, offshore, and airborne case studies, and exploring the inflow and wake turbulence that informs optimal layouts.
The General Assembly emphasized that the final Meridional tool chain is taking shape, bringing together models, data, and workflows developed throughout the project.
With these steps completed, Meridional is now ready to present its results, offering valuable insights into wind energy research.
