MERIDIONAL, AIRE and FLOW projects join forces again and present their results at WindEurope
BRIEF NEWS
Join MERIDIONAL, AIRE and FLOW's event in Madrid, Spain. On 21 April 2026, 14:00-18:00

On 21 April 2026, the three sister projects MERIDIONAL, AIRE and FLOW will hold a joint event in Madrid, Spain, as part of the WindEurope Annual Event 2026. Titled “Advancing Wind Energy Performance: Tools, Models and Validation”, the event will take place from 14:00 to 18:00 CEST.
The WindEurope Annual Event is Europe’s leading wind energy conference and exhibition, bringing together the entire sector to showcase innovation, address key challenges of the energy transition, and highlight the role of wind power in a decarbonised energy system. Each year, it attracts thousands of participants, including policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and investors from across the global wind energy community.
As the three projects approach their conclusion, this joint event will present and discuss the key results and outputs developed in collaboration with AIRE and FLOW. A central focus will be on WindLab, the shared knowledge and data hub created by the three projects, alongside advances in wind farm efficiency enabled by innovative tools, modelling approaches and validation methodologies.
The programme will include technical sessions such as tools presentations, model benchmarking activities, and discussions on large-scale validation using OEM data. The event will also feature a showcase session and dedicated moments for stakeholder feedback, fostering knowledge exchange and supporting the uptake of project results across the wind energy sector.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with the projects’ teams, learn more about their outcomes, and access dissemination materials highlighting key achievements, including test cases covering onshore, offshore and airborne wind applications.
