Offshore Wind Plants: New report on the IEA Wind 740-10-MW

BRIEF NEWS

A new technical publication supported by MERIDIONAL describes the first version of the regular and irregular IEA Wind 740-10-MW Reference Offshore Wind Plants

A new report, supported and written by some of the MERIDIONAL partners (TUM, DTU and TU Delft), in collaboration with other institutions, is now available.

The report describes the first version of the regular and irregular IEA Wind 740-10-MW Reference Offshore Wind Plants (v0.1).

Two wind plants were created as part of the second phase of the IEA Wind Technology Collaboration Programme (Task 37) on Wind Energy Systems Engineering. These plants serve as models for future research endeavors in offshore wind energy, showcasing contemporary designs. Each plant comprises seventy-four IEA 10-MW Reference Wind Turbines, arranged in two layouts optimized for maximal annual energy output: one featuring a regular grid layout and the other an irregular arrangement.
