MERIDIONAL consortium holds 5th meeting in Milan

Project partners had the opportunity to review progress, share updates from various working groups, and discuss future milestones.

On 11–12 November 2024, the MERIDIONAL project consortium gathered for its 5th meeting, hosted by Politecnico di Milano at the Campus Bovisa. This event served as a valuable opportunity for project partners to review progress, share updates from various working groups, and discuss future milestones.

The two-day agenda included presentations and workshops covering each work package’s advancements, from project management to inflow and wake turbulence, performance and loading, and tool integration. The agenda highlighted discussions on the WindLab Knowledge and Data Hub, followed by detailed sessions on tool integration and case studies.

As part of the event, partners had the unique opportunity to tour Politecnico’s renowned Wind Tunnel laboratory (GVPM), a closed-circuit wind tunnel designed for experimental aerodynamics research and innovation.

Sister projects AIRE and FLOW also joined the meeting, presenting their current objectives and achievements. The session fostered discussions on further potential collaborations and synergies between MERIDIONAL and these related projects, aiming to strengthen the shared goals within the EU’s wind energy research community.

The meeting concluded with a final plenary session, during which consortium members discussed next steps and set deadlines to drive forward the impactful goals of the MERIDIONAL project.
