New collaborative Knowledge and Data Hub enhances wind energy research

A new collaborative Knowledge and Data Hub is set to revolutionise how data is managed and shared in wind energy research

A new Knowledge and Data Hub, developed by MERIDIONAL aims to improve how data is managed and shared in wind energy research. This innovative platform, designed by the HLRS – High Performance Computing Center of the University of Stuttgart in collaboration with the AIRE and FLOW projects, will foster collaboration across research teams. It will provide open access to important datasets and tools that support advanced analysis and optimization in wind farm design.

The hub’s primary goal is to enable researchers to efficiently upload, organize, and access data while ensuring it adheres to the highest standards of accessibility and reusability. It encourages seamless collaboration by allowing researchers from different projects and institutions to share information and resources effortlessly, creating a dynamic environment for joint research.

By streamlining data management and offering powerful tools for analysis, the hub will accelerate progress in wind energy research, helping to optimise wind farm performance and address critical environmental challenges. This collaborative platform aligns with the global push for fair data and cooperation in renewable energy, driving innovation in sustainable energy solutions.

With contributions from multiple European research teams, the Knowledge and Data Hub reflects the strong spirit of collaboration, essential to advancing wind energy technologies and supporting the transition to a greener future.

The three projects involved will soon present the knowledge and data hub in a joint webinar that will take place in November.
